We are proud to announce a major milestone for the Barstow International Gateway! With a unanimous vote, the Barstow City Council approved the project, clearing the way for the next chapter of one of North America’s most ambitious rail developments.
“This is a giant project that will flood the High Desert with tax revenue to improve things like schools, public services, roads, and housing,” Barstow resident Todd Smith said. “The approval by the City Council will change the economic landscape of Barstow and the High Desert.”
Years of planning and community input brought the project to this point. Now, BNSF looks forward to working with Barstow as the vision becomes reality.
